Ensure your server payload includes customer parameters such as SHA-256 hashed email addresses, phone numbers, first and last names, client IP addresses, and user-agent strings.

Once CAPI is operational, monitor your Event Match Quality (EMQ) score within Meta Events Manager. EMQ measures how effectively the customer information sent from your server matches a Meta user profile. Scores range from 1 to 10 across individual events like Lead, AddToCart, and Purchase.

To push your EMQ score above 7.0 (considered good to excellent):

  • Capture Data Early: Capture email or phone parameters as early as possible during customer interactions, such as during multi-step forms or cart entry.
  • Preserve First-Party Cookies: Ensure your server sets persistent first-party cookies (like _fbp and _fbc) and passes them in every CAPI request.
  • Standardize Data Formatting: Always normalize and hash customer parameters according to Meta guidelines (e.g., lowercasing emails before applying SHA-256 hashing) to prevent matching failures.
